Uluberia, Tuesday:
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026 is currently being conducted across the country, including West Bengal, with the aim of ensuring an accurate, transparent, and inclusive voter database. As part of this important exercise, H. M. Riajul Hoque, WBCS (Exe), Block Development Officer of Uluberia-I Block, visited Dhulasimla Gram Panchayat on Tuesday to monitor the house-to-house distribution of Enumeration Forms (EF) being carried out by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

The SIR process began on 4th November 2025 and will continue till 4th December 2025. During this period, BLOs are visiting every household to distribute Enumeration Forms and collect voter information. The Draft Electoral Roll will be published on 9th December 2025, followed by the Final Electoral Roll on 7th February 2026.
During the field visit, BDO Hoque interacted with local residents, verified the distribution of Enumeration Forms, and reviewed the overall progress of the revision work. He advised BLOs to maintain accuracy, transparency, and timeliness in the data collection process.

Speaking to officials and villagers, BDO Hoque stated,
> “The accuracy of the electoral roll is the foundation of a healthy democracy. Every eligible citizen must find their rightful place in the voter list. The Special Intensive Revision ensures that no eligible voter is left out and no ineligible name is included. Some social media platforms are spreading misinformation about SIR — we are in the field to clarify its real purpose and reassure the public.”

He further emphasized that public awareness, community participation, and dedicated fieldwork are key to making the revision process successful. The BDO personally verified several distributed forms, discussed the challenges faced by BLOs, and encouraged them to continue their door-to-door work sincerely and efficiently.

The visit was conducted in the presence of the AERO, Additional AERO, Supervisors, and BLOs of the concerned area. This proactive initiative reflects the strong commitment of the Uluberia-I Block administration towards ensuring a free, fair, and error-free electoral roll.
Local residents appreciated the BDO’s on-ground involvement and expressed confidence in the transparent and people-centric approach of the Uluberia-I administration during this crucial democratic exercise.
