Today, H M RIAJUL HOQUE, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Uluberia-1 Block, organized a significant meeting that brought together a three-member committee. This committee included the Inspector from the Uluberia Police Station and the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer (BL&LRO) for Uluberia-1 Block. The main agenda of the meeting focused on addressing various land-related disputes within the block.

During the discussions, participants explored several key issues, particularly the problem of illegal sand mining occurring in the area. The BDO emphasized the urgent need to tackle this issue seriously, as illegal mining poses risks not only to local land rights but also to the environment. As a result, the BDO instructed the BL&LRO to take firm and decisive actions against individuals or groups involved in these illicit activities. The aim is to protect the natural resources of the Damodar River and ensure that local land laws are upheld. The meeting highlights the commitment of local authorities to address land disputes and uphold the law regarding natural resource management.
