SVEEP programme on the day of International disability day at Uluberia-I Block by BDO H M Riajul Hoque

On December 3rd, H M RIAJUL HOQUE, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Uluberia-I, took part in the observance of International Day of Disability at ASHA Bhawan in Uluberia. The event aimed to raise awareness about the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities. To support this initiative, the BDO organized a Special Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, which focused on encouraging eligible individuals to enroll as voters. During the program, eleven individuals filled out Form 6 to register for the electoral roll, marking an important step toward civic engagement for people with disabilities.

 

The event was held at ASHA Bhawan, where the atmosphere was filled with excitement and vibrant activities. BDO RIAJUL HOQUE expressed his gratitude to John Barui, the Director of ASHA Bhawan, and Super Arunima Jasu for their enthusiastic cooperation in organizing this event. Their support was crucial in making the program a success. The highlight of the day was the performance by the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) inmates, who showcased their talents through dance and cultural programs. The colorful displays of creativity not only entertained the audience but also helped to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the abilities of individuals with disabilities. This event reflected a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment within the community.
